Corduroy Natsukashii was a body of work exhibited during SALA 2025

Natsukashii translates to nostalgia, a feeling of fond memories. These pieces present a glimpse of mundane, everyday moments: the crisp morning air and sharp light piercing between buildings, the perfectly sculpted trees nestled tightly in the urban landscape and the various logo mascots welcoming you through every stage of your commute. And like corduroy, a texture that invites you to slow down for further investigation, this body of work captures the quiet moments of pause while a busy world continues at pace; stop for a second to observe all around you. I still think of my time in Japan as if it were yesterday.
